WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Kit Bond today announced that he secured $700,000 and $500,000 respectively in the fiscal year 2010 omnibus appropriations bill for the construction and equipping of a state-of-the-art Forensic Science Research and Education Laboratory and the enhancement of the NASA Education Program, both headquartered at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. The omnibus appropriations bill passed the Senate on Sunday and must now be signed into law by the President.

 

“The research and training this state-of-the-art lab will provide will serve as a tremendous asset to the men and women of Missouri's law enforcement agencies,” Senator Bond said.  “I am pleased to partner with the leaders of Southeast Missouri State to make this state-of-the-art facility a reality and to expand the state’s NASA program which continues to help Missouri students compete in an increasingly competitive and global workforce.”
