WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Kit Bond today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s proposed budget:

“President Obama said Tuesday night that we can’t spend our way out of the economic crisis, a principal that seems to have lasted fewer than 48 hours.  It only took the President three weeks to spend his first Trillion dollars and the spending spree isn’t over yet.

“This irresponsible budget would cost Americans their jobs, cost Americans in energy prices, and saddle our children and grandchildren with debt.

“Our highest priority should be to jumpstart our economy, not kill it.

“We want our President to be chief executive, not majority shareholder.”
